In order to enhance MAHAK's international activities, the International Relations Department was established in 2003 with the help of a group of volunteers.

Since MAHAK gained the consultative position at the United Nations ECOSOC and following its membership, a representative from the organization has actively participated in UNDPI annual meetings. Since the adoption of the Millennium Declaration by all member states of the United Nations in 2000, the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) – which range from halving extreme poverty to halting the spread of diseases and providing universal primary education, MAHAK was one of the first NGOs in Iran to become directly involved in goal number four (Reduction in Children's mortality rate) and goal number one (Reduction of poverty and hunger) according to the organization's charter and its activities

The United Nations ECOSOC Deputy for NGOs, Ms. Michele Fedoroff, in her visit of 2008 to Tehran, praised and appreciated the commitment and ongoing contributions of MAHAK.

A major commitment of MAHAK is to share information, knowledge and expertise with the worldwide medical community. Two major recent international congresses, namely "Tailored Strategies for Childhood Sarcoma" in April 2009 and "Late Effects of Childhood Cancer Treatment" in May 2008 were held with the Gustave Roussy Institute of France as a partner of MAHAK in accordance with the cooperation agreement with the said renowned institute.
