"The 1st International Exhibition of Designing Posters"
On the subject of
"Childhood Cancer and the Corporate Social Responsibility-CSR"
The Society to Support Children Suffering from Cancer, known as MAHAK is an aspect of the people's role in the society as a non-governmental organization, which at the first sight reveals the most fundamental moto of MAHAK, " help us and ask for our help". The close relationship of MAHAK with every individual in the society, the presence of the factor of responsibility and security has established a focal point for this organization in relation with the government and the civil society as a supporter.
The factor of contribution has strong roots in our customs, national traditions and in our religious beliefs. The primary and the first basis of non-governmental organizations (NGOs) in Iran has appeared in the form of people's contributions in helping the poor, founding of orphanages, clinics , schools, etc. with the help of benefactors and local confidents. Today, people's help to MAHAK in the forms of vows is the contribution of those thoughts and beliefs in the history of this land. Besides, in today's industrial world, principles like the Corporate Social Responsibilities (CSR) of companies is a new axis to attract people's contributions and it is necessary that non-governmental organizations recognize those sources and benefit from them.
The NGOs have very essential roles as effective factors in cultural, economic, social and political affairs of the society. In building culture and habilitation of the society in order to find the roots of the social problems and submitting practical solutions to suppress the diminutions, they can use the potential abilities and efficient powers of a large number of people, fortify self-confidence and prevent the loss of abilities. The NGOs provide a proper opportunity for the presence of the people in the society. They can up-grade their thoughts and abilities whose positive effects in the family and society are undeniable. Moreover, these organizations by attracting people's help and confidence in national and international dimensions can produce a proper ground for economic activities of their society.
MAHAK has been a pioneer in many new movements in the field of non-governmental activities in Iran during the past two decades. Being granted the Special Consultative Status with the United Nations-ECOSOC and gaining the certificate of the NGO Benchmarking from the SGS which shows its highest international standards in working style, are to be mentioned. According to the Mission of the organization which states: Not only does MAHAK involve in the children's cancer, but it also promotes the thoughts of helping its fellow humans, this Society considers the promotion of the role of social responsibilities as one of the modern thoughts of humanitarian activities. In this regard, during the years 2008-2009 the organization has been involved in three major programs with the Management Council of Industry, Industrial Confederation, the Iran-Germany Chamber of Commerce and the Chamber of Industrial Management Organization, all based on the CSR. It also arranged a press conference with the help of the Industrial Confederation in which a large number of media representatives attended.
MAHAK is now organizing the "1st International Exhibition of Poster Designs " with the subject of "Childhood Cancer & Corporate Social Responsibility – CSR" in cooperation with the Iranian Graphic Designers' Society from 29th January to 4th February 2010. The jury consists of famous graphic professors and prominent artists like Mr. Mesghali and Mr. Katoozian, etc. and though the graphic dimensions is the main criteria for choosing the best designs, all the works are most valuable to MAHAK, from the view point of a humanitarian movement.
As the Managing Director of MAHAK,I would like to extend my gratitude to all supporters of this event and invite you to visit the exhibition.
