They dedicate their time, knowledge, skills, and experience to help fulfill MAHAK\u2019s mission of comprehensively supporting children with cancer and their families. Volunteerism is a fundamental part of MAHAK, embraced by everyone from our founder to members of the Board of Trustees and directors. Many of the most prominent physicians in pediatric cancer treatment and research also support MAHAK voluntarily.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"708\" data-end=\"969\">As part of MAHAK\u2019s ever-growing family, volunteers accompany children through the challenging days of treatment. This mutual cooperation provides volunteers with a sense of personal fulfillment and social responsibility, while MAHAK benefits in numerous ways:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"971\" data-end=\"1436\">\n<li data-start=\"971\" data-end=\"1060\">\n<p data-start=\"973\" data-end=\"1060\"><strong data-start=\"973\" data-end=\"998\">Community foundation:<\/strong> Volunteers define MAHAK as a people-supported organization.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1061\" data-end=\"1175\">\n<p data-start=\"1063\" data-end=\"1175\"><strong data-start=\"1063\" data-end=\"1080\">Cost savings:<\/strong> By assisting with organizational needs, volunteers help reduce the expenses of hiring staff.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1176\" data-end=\"1312\">\n<p data-start=\"1178\" data-end=\"1312\"><strong data-start=\"1178\" data-end=\"1208\">Fundraising contributions:<\/strong> Volunteers organize charity events, bazaars, and other initiatives that generate significant revenue.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1313\" data-end=\"1436\">\n<p data-start=\"1315\" data-end=\"1436\"><strong data-start=\"1315\" data-end=\"1340\">Ambassadors of MAHAK:<\/strong> Over time, volunteers help spread MAHAK\u2019s message of charity and support to a wider audience.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"1438\" data-end=\"1671\">Over the past 30 years, MAHAK has grown steadily, and so has our volunteer base. From a few dedicated individuals at the beginning, the number of volunteers has now grown to <strong data-start=\"1612\" data-end=\"1631\">over a thousand<\/strong>, and continues to increase each year.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1673\" data-end=\"2046\">The <strong data-start=\"1677\" data-end=\"1717\">first and oldest group of volunteers<\/strong>, known as MAHAK Social Workers, dates back to the very early days of the organization. The second oldest group, the <strong data-start=\"1834\" data-end=\"1849\">Youth Group<\/strong>, also continues to operate actively.
