Today on International Childhood Cancer Day (ICCD) 2014, a day in which the strength, courage and resiliency of children with cancer and their families are celebrated, we at MAHAK not only express our sincere appreciation to non-governmental and community organizations which value the health of children afflicted with cancer and seek to raise the quality of their lives by providing them with comprehensive psychological, social, financial, and medical support, but also would like raise awareness in every single person of the importance of behavior in cancer prevention and early detection and that each and every one of us can reduce the risk of cancer by choosing a healthy lifestyle.  If we can effectively promote healthy behaviors, much of the suffering and death from cancer can be prevented or reduced.

Celebration of this day is a message to all that the fight against cancer can be won if we join forces and capabilities.  We now know that when diagnosed early enough and treated with the appropriate protocols, most cases of childhood cancer are curable.

We encourage all those caring for children to familiarize themselves with early detection signs as well as the principles of cancer-stricken children's palliative care so that they can refer these children early in the diagnosis stage to appropriate treatment care centers while ensuring they enjoy the best quality of life possible before, during, and after treatment.
