On the occasion of World Thalassaemia Day June 8th 2013, under the Thalassaemia International Federation (TIF) announced theme of ‘The right for quality health care of every patient with thalassaemia, major and beyond.’, we would like to express our appreciation to all community-based and non-governmental organizations which have adopted proactive and effective measures to assist people with thalassaemia and other bleeding disorders receive adequate diagnosis, treatment, and general support for their condition.

Since Thalassaemia is a genetically inherited blood disorder that affects millions of people around the world, awareness is the only tool to battle this disease. Therefore, this day is intended to raise public awareness for prevention of this disease as well as giving rise to patients' rights, and facilitate their access to health services.

In line with its commitment to consistently maintain comprehensive services and an adequate supply of safe blood reserve in its hospital, MAHAK, along with spreading the TIF message around the world, strives to implement innovative and developmental health care strategies for present and future generations.

With your support and cooperation, we wish and plan for the day when all pediatric patients receive the required support and assistance for a life of health, dignity and fulfillment.
