Newsha Tavakolian who is a journalist, photographer and a volunteer at MAHAK, won the main prize of the Prince Claus Fund this past September for doing pioneering work in the field of photography. The award will be presented to her this upcoming November in Amsterdam.
Tavakolian who happens to be a long time valuable volunteer at MAHAK, decided to donate her award to organizations work in the field of charity and philanthropy. This is the first year ever that the Prince Claus Fund award goes to a photographer. Tavakolian’s works will be put on public display at the Prince Claus Gallery of the Netherlands.
She got familiar with MAHAK, when her cousin was hospitalized at MAHAK Pediatric Cancer Treatment and Research Center and after that she never forgot about all the other brave and strong children fighting against cancer at MAHAK. She came to MAHAK in October and donated a portion of her award, 10,000 Euros, to MAHAK to be spent on medicine and treatment of children suffering from cancer.
MAHAK Charity is and always will be thankful to those who dedicate their talents and expertise to MAHAK’s goals and appreciates its supporters who throughout their daily lives, don’t forget about others’ difficulties.
