MAHAK – the Society to Support Children Suffering from Cancer is a charity organization
established in 1991 and continues since as an independent NGO exclusively funded by benevolent
citizens concerned with the welfare of children with cancer and their families.
By March 2023, MAHAK operated with 826 paid staff and hundreds of volunteers scattered across Iran, providing
full treatment, research, and psycho-social support to every Iranian and non-Iranian family whose
child has cancer and is in need of financial and medical support.
This inclusive service has been provided to over 42.000 cases by the end of March 2023 with close to 16.000 active cases receiving treatment and psycho-social support in all public hospitals throughout the country with pediatric oncology wards.
