Global Partnerships

Working across borders to improve care, knowledge, and support for children with cancer.

 

MAHAK, the Society to Support Children Suffering from Cancer, has developed a strong international profile through long-standing collaborations with leading medical, humanitarian, and civil society organizations around the world. Guided by a commitment to transparency, quality, and continuous improvement, MAHAK has consistently aligned its work with internationally recognized standards and has welcomed external evaluation by global institutions.

MAHAK works with international medical centers, humanitarian organizations, professional networks, and civil society institutions to improve care and support for children with cancer. Through these partnerships, MAHAK advances knowledge exchange, awareness, quality improvement, and global cooperation in childhood cancer.

Through strategic partnerships, participation in international networks, and contribution to global campaigns on childhood cancer, MAHAK has expanded opportunities for knowledge exchange, specialized care, awareness raising, and institutional development. These collaborations reflect MAHAK’s belief that addressing childhood cancer requires collective action across borders, disciplines, and sectors.

 

International Collaborations

 

MAHAK has established and maintained collaborative relationships with a range of international and regional organizations, hospitals, and humanitarian institutions. These collaborations have supported educational development, research, advocacy, and service improvement in the field of childhood cancer.

In addition, MAHAK holds consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), reflecting its recognized role within the international civil society community.

MAHAK is an active member of several national and international professional and civil society networks, enabling the organization to remain connected to developments in childhood cancer care, research, advocacy, and nonprofit governance.

MAHAK’s efforts have been recognized by a number of respected international organizations for excellence in project management, sustainable development, quality, and nonprofit performance.

 

Selected international recognitions include:

 

– Winner of the UICC World Cancer Day Spirit Award (2020) for its nationwide campaign on cancer prevention and early detection

– Gold Winner of the IPMA Global Project Achievement Award (2018) in the category of Sustainable Development Projects

– Ranked first in the SGS NGO Benchmarking Audit in 2018.

– Gold Award from the Top Ten Award International Network (2017)

– Silver Prize for Green Project Management (2014)

– Gold Award from IPMA (2014)

– Level Three Certificate in Delta Assessment by IPMA

– Silver Trophy for Quality from GIC International Institute (2011)

 

In addition, MAHAK’s founder was honored by the International Development Bank (IDB) and the United Nations Women’s Guild (UNWG) for women’s contribution to development, in recognition of efforts related to the provision of hospital equipment in 2008.

 Joint Projects and Knowledge Exchange

 

MAHAK has participated in a range of joint projects and academic or institutional collaborations aimed at improving understanding, treatment, and support systems related to childhood cancer.

 

Examples include:

 

– A study with the University of Tehran on emotion regulation and emotional adjustment in children with cancer

– Collaboration with CAF in Russia on childhood cancer-related projects

– Research with Gustave Roussy Institute on the effects of delayed treatment in childhood cancer

– Research with Iran University of Medical Sciences on apoptosis induction by Noscapine in lymphoblast cells of leukemia patients

– A joint study with the Iranian Cancer Institute on the geographical distribution of childhood cancer patients

– A memorandum of understanding with Istituto Giannina Gaslini, Italy

 

These initiatives demonstrate MAHAK’s commitment to evidence-based practice, scientific collaboration, and international knowledge exchange.

 

Global Engagement

 

Over the years, MAHAK representatives have actively participated in international conferences, seminars, campaigns, and meetings organized by partner institutions and global networks. Through these engagements, MAHAK has shared its experience in the fight against childhood cancer and contributed to broader international dialogue on care, support, and advocacy.

 

Examples of such engagement include:

 

– Presentation of “The Week of Leukemia” in cooperation with LÖSEV

– Organization of joint cultural nights, exhibitions, and circus events in collaboration with foreign embassies
