Fundraising
As MAHAK is run merely relying on public support, donations in all kinds, including cash, goods, services and expertise knowledge is valuable for MAHAK.
The ever-increasing costs of cancer treatment and medications and on the other hand MAHAK’s efforts on provision of qualified and updated standard services for more than 40,000 children make it more dependent on civil society engagement. On average, daily cost of cancer treatment for a child is IRR175,000. Accordingly, this department has defined various fundraising methods to attract different strata of the society including:
Special Projects
This department is one fundraising subsets that raises fund for treatment expenditure of cancer-stricken children of MAHAK by defining and implementing various types of project. Those projects that do not follow a routine process to be implemented are managed in this department.

Looking for sponsorship to support MAHAK events
corporate social programs
This department is also in charge of holding numerous events such as; concerts, visual arts exhibitions, calendar publishing, postal card publishing and other social-cultural events.
Group volunteers
We are looking for dedicated, energetic group volunteers at national and international level to raise funds for cancer treatment, prevention and early detection!
Volunteers who staying outside Iran can establish group volunteer across the world to introduce MAHAK as the model of philanthropic financially viable organization and assist MAHAK to continue meeting its targets and realizing millennium development goals.
In addition, the first group volunteer has been established in Hamburg with the back of Iranian philanthropists who stay in Germany.
Some volunteer opportunities include:
• Introducing MAHAK and its activities to the international arena
• Organizing charitable bazaars or festivals across the country and outside Iran.
• Attending different meetings and conferences about pediatric cancer as MAHAK representatives that held outside Iran

Why corporate social responsibility is a crucial concept to us?
MAHAK‘s Motto of «help us and let us help you» creates the vision of «passion for humankind». This can be seen in the public involvement and the assistance offered to this organization. MAHAK, being in close contact with every individual and with its committed and sincere presence, has reached a distinct position with the government and the civil society. In our country, social participation has its roots in the ancient Iranian culture and belief that encourages helping others, establishing orphanages, asylums, clinics, schools, etc while in the industrial world of today, the concepts such as CSR as modern means of participation are much discussed and the NGOs including MAHAK should try to profit from these new ideas.

In addition, since the proposed projects are developed just based on MAHAK’s requirements, they are prone to be beyond your field of interest or your field of activity; and as we believe that the Corporate Social Responsibility is a mutual relationship between NGOs and Commercial Entities, in such cases, our fundraising section is open to develop CSR projects within the frameworks you are interested in, based on MAHAK’s requirements. Advertising
The advertising department is one of the fundraising divisions that all promoting activities ranging from putting advertisement in newspapers and website, billboard, and domestic advertisements are carried out by this department. Since MAHAK’s main priority is treating pediatric cancer, supporting children suffering from cancer
and their families, therefore, MAHAK does not pay any charge for advertisement and all are being done by volunteers and members. For this purpose, volunteers and those who are interested in helping MAHAK in this way, are invited to share their facilities with us.
Membership
To give clearer picture, a membership fee of one dollar per month received from three members in a year will provide the cost of a full course of chemotherapy for a child. Memberships can either be individual, or by a group or an organization. Membership subscriptions start at 1 dollar per month and can be increased as the member wishes. For organizations, the minimum subscription is 50 dollar to register as a member. Another source of membership is a scheme where each member introduces 5 new members to the organization.
Membership in MAHAK can be defined in two forms. Some members simply register and pay their monthly membership fees; however, others are at the same time active as volunteers and participate, either part time or full time, in the daily activities of the hospital. Volunteers are considered as driving force for developing initiatives in MAHAK.
MAHAK as a non-governmental, non-profit organization to support children suffering from cancer is governed by social participation & one of its income resources provided through donation boxes. Donations is one of the examples of how MAHAK is widely supported
Currently, 186 employees are working in fundraising department’s different units including membership, donation boxes, fundraising offices, projects, banners, and call center.
