Charity Services

Every effort is devoted to ensuring that no child faces the challenge of treatment alone, and that every family receives the assistance they need to withstand its emotional and economic impact.

Through a combination of community engagement and humanitarian initiatives, MAHAK builds bridges of support between people who care and those who need care the most. Donations, volunteer efforts, and awareness campaigns all contribute to sustaining a network of kindness that makes comprehensive treatment possible for thousands of children every year.

Beyond service delivery, MAHAK manages nationwide fundraising and donation activities. These include donation-box networks, membership programs, public fundraising campaigns and special initiatives.

Hospital Services

Since its inception, one of MAHAK’s central objectives has been establishing a dedicated Pediatric Cancer Hospital. To realize this vision, land was acquired in 1997, construction began in 1999, and the hospital was officially inaugurated in March 2007.

Today, MAHAK Hospital spans over 18,000 square meters, offering comprehensive, state-of-the-art cancer care for children. Key components include:

• Medical Departments: Emergency, Oncology, Hematology, ICU, Chemotherapy, Radiotherapy, Surgery, Psychology
• Specialized Units: Genetic Laboratory, Pediatric Cardiology Unit, Dentistry Clinic
• Diagnostic Services: CT Scan, PET Scan, MRI, Biochemical Laboratory, Microbiology Laboratory
• Rehabilitation & Therapy: Physiotherapy and Hydrotherapy Centers
• Support & Recreation: Welfare departments, children’s playrooms, library, auditorium

Support Services

Supporting families throughout the cancer journey has been a cornerstone of MAHAK’s mission since its establishment. All support programs aim to reduce the emotional, social and practical burdens experienced by families so they can focus fully on their child’s treatment.

The Support Services Department consists of three main departments:

• Social Work
• Psychological Services
• Welfare Center

In alignment with MAHAK’s values, every child under the organization’s care receives financial, social, psychological and welfare support without any form of discrimination.

The Social Work department provides counseling and guidance from the moment families are referred to MAHAK. Social workers collaborate closely with medical teams and act as trusted advisors, helping families navigate the treatment process and access necessary resources.

The Psychological Services department offers free counseling for children and their parents, addressing emotional well‑being, coping strategies and the unique psychological challenges associated with cancer treatment. These services help reduce stress and anxiety for both children and caregivers.

The Welfare Center provides essential logistical support including accommodation, meals, transportation and educational assistance. For families traveling long distances, MAHAK arranges comfortable lodging through partner hotels in Tehran, ensuring they have a safe residence during treatment. By removing practical and financial barriers, MAHAK ensures that no child is deprived of care due to geographical or economic constraints.

Through its integrated support framework, MAHAK strives to lessen the burdens faced by families and empower children to continue their treatment with comfort, reassurance and hope.
