2nd international Pediatric Oncology Congress at MAHAK

The ‘2nd international Pediatric Oncology Congress in Memory of Prof. Parvaneh Vossough’, one of the foremost authorities in pediatric oncology and the pioneer of pediatric hematology-oncology in Iran, will be  held on May 11 – 13, 2016 at MAHAK Pediatric Cancer Treatment and Research Center (MPCTRC) along with the 25th anniversary of MAHAK’s activity.
This congress will be organized jointly by MAHAK Pediatric Cancer Treatment and Research Center (MPCTRC), Iranian Society of Pediatric Hematology and Oncology (ISPHO) and German Society for Pediatric Oncology and Hematology (GPOH) with the presence of several speakers including Iranian physicians from all over the country along with 16 international lecturers who are all leading medical specialists and professors.
In this congress, the most advanced modalities in cancer diagnosis, treatment, follow-up and palliation will be discussed among pediatricians, specialists, radiotherapists, neurosurgeons, pathologists and genetics specialists anesthesia and pain medicine specialists, specialists in internal medicine, radiology specialists, psychiatrists, pharmacists, nurses, psychologists, social workers medical and paramedical students.
The main scientific topics of the congress are:
• Acute Lymphoblastic leukemia’s and Acute Myeloid leukemia’s: Treatment, Toxicity, Stem Cell Transplantation and Late Effects
• Brain Tumors: Treatment (Surgery-Chemo radiation) Toxicity and Late Effects
• The Importance of Supportive Care in Cancer Treatment
MAHAK, as an organization that has been ranked as the 4th NGO in the World with the score of 95.5 by Société Generale de Surveillance (SGS), endeavors consistently to take effective steps in treatment and providing full support for children with cancer by holding scientific congress and sharing its gained knowledge and experiences as a referral center in the Middle East for children’s cancer treatment during the past quarter-century of activity. Presence of professionals and experts of related medical fields pertinent to pediatric cancer in such forums will most certainly be helpful for achieving the best treatment methods possible.
