Iranian National Doctor’s Day is celebrated at MAHAK

On the occasion of Iranian National Doctor’s day, in coincidence with the 10th anniversary of the inauguration of MAHAK hospital was celebrated at MAHAK on August 23, 2017, with the presence of the hospital staff, volunteers, social workers, psychologists and a group of survived children. One of the survived children, Mona, who will be graduated in chemical engineering and wants to continue her study in Medicinal chemistry and cancer research; delivered a small appreciation gift to the doctors for their devotion to children.

At the time of holding Iranian National Doctor’s Day at MAHAK, a number of MAHAK cancer survivors along with volunteer social workers paid a visit to various hospitals cooperating with MAHAK in Tehran and paid tribute to the pediatric hematologists-oncologists for their sense of kindness and responsibility.

Dr. Alebouyeh, a prominent Pediatric Hematologist-Oncologist and the chairman of MAHAK’s board of trustees said: “Being a doctor is not about carrying only a title but the way a doctor speaks with people and how much up-to-date his knowledge is.” He continued: “patients trust in their physicians and what they expect in return is high qualified services and expertise.”

In continue, Saideh Ghods, the founder of MAHAK, highlighted the strategic plan of 2017-2021 about integration and comprehensiveness of support services throughout the country and said: “ethic is the thing which differentiates doctors and services, the thing which we put our effort to achieve to provide cancer-stricken children with the highest level of expertise along with support services.”

The head of MAHAK Pediatric Cancer Treatment and Research Center (MPCTRC), Dr. Azim Mehrvar, claimed: “knowledge, wealth and expertise are not the factors which can treat the patients alone. The thing that make all these things work in right path is multidisciplinary approach in treatment among all the treatment team including psychologists, social workers and medical teams in the hospital.”

Arasb Ahmadian, CEO of MAHAK added: “During the past ten years, MAHAK hospital has been able to meet and maintain 70% of its expenses through the services provided for public and only 30 percent is supplied by charity revenue. In line with MAHAK’s next strategic plan, we hope to provide cancer-stricken children and their families with better treatment and support services.”

During the past quarter century of activity and comprehensive support of cancer-stricken children, MAHAK has always striven to improve the quality of services provided to cancer-stricken children and their families and by your ongoing support and cooperation, we hope for the day when we celebrate the remission of more children with cancer.
