MAHAK charity food festival was held on December 17-18, 2015 serving around 3000 visitors. There were variety of stalls, run by MAHAK volunteers, offering clothes, homeware, fresh juice, various types of food, homemade jams and pickles and cosmetics.
During the festival there was a special table set with Yalda Night elements such as watermelon, pomegranate, dried nuts and fruits and Hafez poetry book. Yalda is one of the most celebrated traditional events in Iran which marks the longest night of the year, a time when friends and family gather together to eat Yalda’s fruits and nuts and read poetry (especially Hafez) until well after midnight.
