Celebrating MAHAK’s 25th Anniversary with the Melody of Happiness

The 25th anniversary of MAHAK was celebrated in a charity concert conducted by the Kamkars Music Band on May26, 2016 with the presence of the deputy of Health Minister and numerous artists and benefactors at Vahdat Hall.
During this ceremony which was so cherished by MAHAK’s supporters, each audience received a birthday cake cookie as a memorial of MAHAK’s 25th anniversary. All the revenue generated by this concert will be spent on medication and treatment of children with cancer.
Realization of the Wishes of MAHAK’s Founders
Before the Kamkars’ performance, the host of this ceremony, Jaleh Sadeghian, delivered a speech on MAHAK’s history and the big wishes its founders has been looking forward to during these past 25 years. Highlighting MAHAK’s achievements, as the 4th NGO in the world among 299 organizations, she mentioned that these accomplishments have been the result of MAHAK’s supporters’ efforts and assistance. She appreciated all the attendees gathered to celebrate the 25th anniversary of supporting children with cancer with the melody of happiness.

Founded in 1965, the Kamkars Music Band was primarily established in Sanandaj as a family band of seven brothers and a sister, all from the city of Sanandaj, the capital of the Kurdistan province of Iran. The group has performed numerous concerts around the world since then, including their performance at the 2003 Nobel Peace Prize.
Arsalan Kamkar, the singer and musician of this group welcomed to audience with a message from the family: “it is a great pleasure for the Kamkars to perform in the 25th anniversary ceremony of MAHAK which benefits children with cancer and their families.”
He invited other artists to participate in such events to help different NGOs and individuals in realization of their cause of supporting people in need.
A Gift from MAHAK’s Cancer Survivors to the Kamkars
At the end of the performance, Hooshang Kamkar the leader of this band was invited among the audiences’ applauding to join the band on the stage to receive a rather special gift. A painting of the Kamkars members, drawn by young supporters of MAHAK, dedicated to Bijan Kamkar by one of the MAHAK’s cancer survivors, Nikoo, one of the of MAHAK proving everyone that ‘Cancer is not the end’.
Hope Continues at MAHAK
MAHAK with 25 years of activity believes that development and sustainability of any NGO depends on its transparency and accountability to its stakeholders and strives to organize such events to connect NGOs, individuals, business entities and the government to provide higher quality services to the society.
MAHAK appreciates the attendance of all the benevolent individuals at this concert who created a chance to co-experience a memorable evening of harmony between art and kindness in an atmosphere filled with love and humanity. With your kindness and support, children suffering from cancer will be able to sing their farewell song to cancer and continue on with their sweet childhood days.
