MAHAK summer charity bazaar was held on July 4 – 5, 2013 serving more than 5000 visitors. There were nearly 50 stalls offering cloths, cuisine, cocktails, handicrafts and cosmetics. There also was a stall presenting complimentary MAHAK newsletters and brochures to the attendees.
The Presence of MAHAK Cancer Survivor
The presence of Mojtaba, one of MAHAK’s children, in this bazaar was one of the most interesting happenings. Remembering his memories of the days of his treatment, Motjaba, who was diagnosed with cancer (ALL) and his treatment regiment took almost 4 years, paid tribute to the late Prof. Parvaneh Vossough recalling: “she had always assured me that I would be treated”. Fortunately after 4 years, he overcame this disease and returned to normal life and the pursuit of his ambitions.
His presence and support alongside other MAHAK children and parents reinforced our conviction that ’Cancer is not the end’.
The Presence of Popular Figures
The atmosphere benefitted immeasurably by the presence of celebrities and social VIPs who mingled openly with everyone around. MAHAK is fortunate to enjoy the support of all the strata of society including well-known artists and athletes who not only actively support cancer-stricken children but also make them happy by their sheer presence and support.
Revenue generated by bazaar
The Bazaar managed to raise 3,562,201,939 Rls which as always will be spent on medicine for and treatment of children suffering from cancer.
Cinere Company, by donating 150,000,000 Rls, was the financial sponsor of this event.
We are grateful to all the volunteers and supporters from the youngest to the oldest who assisted MAHAK in holding this bazaar and hope that one day with your support, we celebrate the remission and full recovery of children suffering from cancer with the whole big family of MAHAK.
