Removing barriers to an inclusive and accessible society for all
The day to day life of people with disability is well known by those close to them. But for the majority of society, there is a lack of information about how life is when you have an impairment, what the challenges are that you face and what your daily goals are. It’s our common mission to build confidence, change perceptions and drive social inclusion to improve the lives of the world’s one billion people with some disability.
By changing popular perceptions of people with disability and bringing about social inclusion, events like Paralympics Games have shown they can help individuals develop their potential and empower them to lead for change in the global society. As an example of such individuals we can cite Mr. Kamran Shokri Salari the Iranian javelin throwing champion who won the silver medal in his discipline in the recent Paralympics and whose leg was amputated as a result of growth of cancer. Such experiences indicate that disability is a mere difference in lifestyle and as such is not a barrier but a simple hurdle to cross in the path to success for the determined among us.
MAHAK Charity-Care organization congratulates Kamran and those like him who through their tremendous victories act as role models for human potential and as leaders for change.
