MAHAK’s representatives attend the ICCCPO regional meeting
MAHAK representative, Ms. Kiana Sharifi along with her mother, the founder of MAHAK, attended the ICCCPO regional meeting which was held at Jakarta, Indonesia on April 22, 2012.
In line with its commitment to contribute to the realization of the eighth millennium development goal regarding global partnership, MAHAK consistently strives to have a proactive participation in the regional and international meetings, conferences, workshops, and congresses which are held in the field of cancer throughout the globe.
This year the ICCCPO congress on the subject of ‘our voice, strength and wellbeing’ enjoyed participants from different strata ranging from survivors, parents who have a child with cancer, and employees of non-governmental organization dealing with pediatric cancer diagnosis, treatment, and research.
It was another successful ICCCPO meeting achieving the following goals: Sharing positive attitudes and experiences from young people with cancer in the world, and skills they developed during their treatment to overcome cancer.
For this purpose, MAHAK representative, Ms. Kiana sharifi , stressed the remarkable role of MAHAK support services department in communicating closely with children and their families in order to provide them with support services within the three domains of social work, psychology, and welfare services. She also marked the distinguishing characteristic of this department to identify the children with cancer in need followed by developing an action plan for addressing those needs.
We hope that one day all cancer-stricken children receive the global support and assistance required for a life of dignity and fulfillment.
