Fundraising
MAHAK relies entirely on public support. Donations of every kind—including cash, goods, services and expertise—are vital for helping us continue our mission.
The ever-increasing cost of cancer treatment and medicines, together with MAHAK’s commitment to providing high-quality services to more than 40,000 children, makes public participation more important than ever. On average, the daily cost of treatment for one child is IRR 175,000. To meet this challenge, our Fundraising Department has developed a variety of methods to engage different groups across society.
Special Projects
The Special Projects Unit raises funds for the treatment of children with cancer by designing and implementing initiatives beyond routine fundraising activities. These projects include:
-
Sponsorship for MAHAK events
-
Corporate social programs
This unit also organizes numerous cultural and social events such as concerts, visual arts exhibitions, calendar and postcard publishing and other creative fundraising activities.
Group Volunteers
We welcome dedicated and energetic groups of volunteers at both the national and international level to help raise funds for treatment, prevention and early detection of cancer. Volunteers abroad can establish MAHAK groups in their communities to introduce MAHAK as a model philanthropic organization and to help us reach our targets and contribute to global development goals.
The first international volunteer group was established in Hamburg with the support of Iranian philanthropists living in Germany.
Volunteer opportunities include:
-
Introducing MAHAK and its activities internationally
-
Organizing charitable bazaars and festivals inside and outside Iran
-
Representing MAHAK at meetings and conferences on pediatric cancer held abroad
Corporate Programs
MAHAK’s motto “Help us and let us help you” reflects our belief in a shared passion for humanity. Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) offers businesses an opportunity to partner with MAHAK while fulfilling their own social commitments.
Examples of corporate involvement include:
-
Donation box stations
-
Supporting mobility programs for cured children
-
Promoting philanthropy through goods or services
-
Contributing to MAHAK’s “Green Building” through renewable energy
-
Reducing electricity and water consumption, with savings directed toward treatment
As CSR is a mutual relationship between NGOs and businesses, MAHAK welcomes the opportunity to develop tailored CSR projects that align with both our needs and your organization’s goals.

Advertising
The Advertising Unit manages MAHAK’s promotional activities including advertisements in newspapers, websites, billboards and other media. Since MAHAK’s priority is the treatment of children with cancer and their families, we do not allocate funds to advertising. All advertising support is generously provided by volunteers and members.
We invite individuals and organizations with access to advertising platforms to share their resources with us and help spread MAHAK’s message.
Membership
Members are considered one of MAHAK’s most valuable assets. Membership fees provide a significant part of the resources needed to support children with cancer and to cover hospital operating costs.
For example, just one dollar per month from three members over a year covers the cost of a full course of chemotherapy for a child.
Membership can be individual or organizational:
-
Individual memberships start at $1 per month
-
Organizational memberships start at $50 per month
Some members also serve as volunteers, contributing their time and expertise in addition to financial support.
Donation Boxes
As a non-governmental, non-profit organization, MAHAK is sustained by the generosity of society. One of our most important income sources comes from public donation boxes placed in shops, offices and other locations.
Donations are collected and distributed in a timely manner, and the success of this project has made it a cornerstone of MAHAK’s fundraising efforts. Support also comes from international donors, with contributions channeled through affiliated organizations such as ISCC and IKKH.
Our Team
Currently, 186 employees work across MAHAK’s Fundraising Department, including the Membership, Donation Boxes, Fundraising Offices, Projects, Banners and Call Center units.
