Message from the Chairman of the Board of Directors- The Biennial International Pediatric Oncology Congress2024

This congress manifests MAHAK mission towards achieving up-to-date pediatric cancer treatment programs

We made a pact, Thirty-three years ago at MAHAK, to support children with cancer and their families to make sure that they do not suffer more pain with accessing to the efficient care services. Of course, achieving this goal would have not been possible without the help of our benevolent supporters. Now and after 30 years, we stand in a place where we can proudly claim that MAHAK charity institute belongs not only to Iran capital city, but also to the children all over the country.

At MAHAK, we go beyond providing medical and support services to achieve less painful, less costly, and more effective treatment for pediatric cancer in Iran through developing MAHAK specialists’ knowledge and expertise. Expanding the scope of knowledge is not feasible without opening up to new scientific & medical horizons worldwide. MAHAK attendance in national and international platforms covers well its mission in line with health and cure goals.

The Biennial International Congress of Pediatric Oncology, in memory of Professor Parvaneh Vossough, signifies MAHAK charity institute determination towards attaining up-to-date and effective treatment programs for children suffering from cancer. Professor Vossough always emphasized on the latest knowledge, medicine and therapeutic strategies. Through continuous studies and updating her knowledge/skills, she tried to utilize the most appropriate treatment protocols according to patients’ conditions.

MAHAK Board of Directors approved organizing the International Congress of Pediatric Oncology in 2013, with the aim of honoring Prof.Vossough academic position and knowledge sharing with top oncologists globally. Based on this decision, the congress was held in 2014, 2016, and 2018 with the participation of national and international health professionals and experts. Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, the International Congress of Pediatric Oncology was halted; currently in 2024, we are looking forward for the fourth round of the congress.

Now, after passing 33 years, we are still here to genuinely care MAHAK valuable supporters’ trust and activities by the accountability and transparency that we have always had in our cornerstone. This enables us to provide easier and calmer days for the sick kids and their families.
