The representatives of MAHAK visited the White Cane Charity Foundation on the occasion of World White Cane Week on 9-15 of October 2015, to appreciate their great contributions in helping and supporting the blind or partially sighted people and pay tribute to this institution’s active members.
White Cane Charity Foundation is a rehabilitation and educational institution for blind and visually impaired individuals founded in 1990 by Dr. Mohammad Reza Nameni.
Some of their main objectives of this foundation are:
  • • Free education for blind or visually impaired individuals
  • • Raising public awareness about their social rights
  • • Encouraging and assisting the blind and visually impaired individuals to improve their scientific, artistic and social skills
  • • Attracting social participation
  • • Creating equal opportunities for educational health care facilities and help them to find their place in the community and can attain job positions that are equally paid to others
Considering blindness as one of the side effects of certain types of cancer treatment, MAHAK strives to provide children with cancer who are blind or visually impaired with specialized services by increasing synergistic collaborations with the institutions like White Cane Charity Foundation.
