September 17th is designated as World Patient Safety Day to promote the well-being of patients in healthcare settings. In the same vein, MAHAK has also strived to be the voice of children with cancer and their families by ensuring their safety during their treatment process.
During Childhood Cancer Awareness Month and on World Patient Safety Day, MAHAK has set the patient safety station at MAHAK Hospital with the aim of educating children and their families especially the ones recently diagnosed about different types of cancer treatment, their challenges and side effects while the parents learned how to enhance their child safety by taking some measure including:
• Doing proper hand hygiene as one of the most important preventive measures against the spread of diseases
• Giving necessary care during hospitalization and after discharge to prevent complications such as bedsores
• Preventing cancer-stricken children from having contact with individuals with symptoms of contagious diseases such as cold, coronavirus, and influenza due to their weakened immune system
In line with its social responsibility and to create pleasant memories for children during the patient safety workshop, Nestle joined MAHAK in patient safety workshop and hosted children and their parents with their products proper for MAHAK children.
MAHAK celebrates World Patient Safety Day and hopes that all children with cancer pass their treatment days in the best level of safety conditions and return to days of good health.
