September is marked as the Childhood Cancer Awareness Month (CCAM) by the international societies like International Society of Pediatric Oncology (SIOP) and Childhood cancer International (CCI).
Given that, pediatric cancer centric organizations around the world get invited to take measurements among the society with the aim of reminding, educating and raising awareness about this disease.
These measurements are necessary specifically for the groups involved with children since they will draw more attention to the symptoms of childhood cancers and increase the chance of early diagnosis which will be resulted in less painful, less expensive and more effective treatment.
MAHAK, as an NGO whose mission is to support cancer-stricken children and their families, also joins this international movement every year and take measurements to raise awareness about childhood cancer, the symptoms and challenges they face during this journey.
Paying attention to the symptoms of cancer in children in the early stages of the disease increases the rate of cancer recovery.
Currently, MAHAK supports over 13000 children who are passing their treatment days and every day six new children are added to them. Accordingly, receiving support from different strata of the society is vital for us since it makes all people of the society aware of pediatric cancer.
