International Childhood Cancer Day (ICCD) is observed annually on February 15 to raise awareness about childhood cancer and to support affected children and their families. Established in 2002, this day serves to unite various organizations, healthcare providers, and advocates in a common goal: to enhance the quality of care for children with cancer around the globe.

ICCD aims to educate the public about the challenges faced by children with cancer and to promote the rights of these young patients to receive comprehensive medical care and support. Each year, individuals around the world try to help creating a platform for sharing knowledge and experiences while fostering a sense of community among those affected.

Childhood Cancer International (CCI), in partnership with the International Society of Pediatric Oncology (SIOP), initiates the ICCD Campaign every February. This campaign takes place over three consecutive years, each focusing on a different theme.

Events on ICCD may include awareness campaigns, social media initiatives, educational seminars, and fundraising activities. Many organizations also encourage participation through local events, encouraging the community to engage to the campaign. By collaborating with schools, hospitals, and social media platforms, ICCD strives to create a global conversation about childhood cancer, emphasizing that early intervention can greatly improve survival rates and quality of life for young patients and their families.
