Since the 1980s, the international community commenced to focus on the crucial role of families in child growth and development. Having acknowledged the responsibility that parents have in nurturing and protecting their children, United Nations General Assembly has proclaimed the International Day of Families.
With respect to the vital role of parents in child’s well-being, the international policies are increasingly incorporating family support to reduce poverty, decrease inequality, and promote positive parental and child welfare. In 2012, United Nations General Assembly proclaimed June 1st, as the Global Day of Parents, to be observed annually in honour of parents throughout the world.
Throughout June, United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) and its partners promote support for parents, encompassing a broad range of topics. According to United Nations (UN), 2024 theme for the global day of parents is “the promise of playful parenting.”
To work towards this resolution, UN provides parents with comprehensive guides and detailed explanations to ensure their children’s various sort of experiences are both safe and positive.
At MAHAK, you can observe children undergoing treatment with their parents by their side. The parents wish that there would be a way to endure the pain instead of their kids.
Since day one, MAHAK has determined a valuable mission to support children with cancer and their families. More than thirty years, MAHAK has been committed to endorse not only children with cancer but also their parents.
In line with its vision, MAHAK aims to empower parents to nurture their children’s dreams and ambitions without the burden of fearing their child’s survival.
Happy June 1st to all parents out there advocating for their kids.
