On the occasion of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month (CCAM) in September, Milad Tower, Azadi Tower, and Tabiat Bridge as the three well-known landmarks in Tehran lit up Gold. This measure was taken in line with their social responsibility to join MAHAK’s campaign as the previous years. MAHAK organizes this campaign in September with the aim of raising the society’s awareness about childhood cancer and the importance of early diagnosis.
Every Year, International Society of Pediatric Oncology (SIOP) and Childhood Cancer International (CCI) invites all individuals and organizations to take different measures using gold color as the symbol of childhood cancer to demonstrate their support. Given that, lighting up prominent buildings, national monuments and significant natural sites around the world is one of the most attention-grabbing measures to raise public awareness towards a phenomenon.
Accordingly, MAHAK has strived to engage different strata of the society among which lighting up Milad Tower, Azadi Tower, and Tabiat Bridge has happened during the past few years. MAHAK appreciates its ever-expanding family for supporting cancer-stricken children and assisting this charity to realize its mission of supporting children with cancer to have less painful, less costly and more effective treatment through raising awareness and early diagnosis.
