On the occasion of World Cancer Day (WCD) 2014, originated by the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC), we at MAHAK not only express our sincere appreciation to non-governmental and community organizations which consistently strive to provide cancer-stricken people with required and appropriate health care, support services, and raising quality of lives, but also would like to raise the attention of national policy makers of the growing cancer burden in order to develop operational National Cancer Control Plans based on promoting healthy life style and clean environment, increasing quality of life and providing equipped care centers while reducing the burdens of access to quality service for every patient throughout the world.

In this vein, MAHAK has taken big strides by embarking on a campaign of education and information sharing regarding early detection and possible prevention of paediatric cancer.  Moreover, MAHAK’s Social Services Department supports children with cancer and their families through counselling, education and providing all necessary assistance required for palliation.

Unless urgent action is taken to raise awareness about cancer and develop practical strategies to address the disease, millions of people will continue to die.  With your support and cooperation, we wish and plan for the day when all cancer-stricken patients receive the required support and assistance for a life of health, dignity and fulfillment.
