On the occasion of the World Refugee Day, the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) with the cooperation of the Bureau for Aliens and Foreign Immigrants Affairs (BAFIA) held an event in commemoration of this international day with the presence of the interior minister of Iran, ambassadors, representatives from international organizations, representatives of the refugees society, NGOs and all who are concerned about the refugees. This event consisted of a two-hour session of different speeches and an exhibition hosted by national and international organizations which support refugees.
MAHAK had a stall in the exhibition section of this event with the aim of informing the participants about its main activities and services delivered to refugees so far. This charity organization has striven to provide comprehensive treatment and support services to all cancer-stricken children regardless of their ethnicity, nationality and religion. In the same vein, 1861 refugee children have been supported by MAHAK during the past 28 years.
Ivo Freijsen, UNHCR representative in Iran while visiting MAHAK’s stall, congratulated this NGO for its activities which are being performed in important domains and stated that MAHAK is a well-organized charity organization. In addition, he praised MAHAK for its impactful activities and expressed his interest in visiting MAHAK Hospital and charity institution in person in the near future.
On the occasion of the World Refugee Day, we pay tribute to all the individuals and organizations that treat their fellow beings equally and strive to eradicate discrimination in their societies. We look forward to the day when there is no border for expressing love to human beings.
