MAHAK attends the Exhibition of “Services of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Refugee Empowerment for Sustainable Return & Reconstruction of their Homelands” held by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in cooperation with the Bureau for Aliens and Foreign Immigrants’ Affairs (BAFIA) of the Iranian Ministry of Interior on June 26-27, 2014 in Milad Tower International Conference Hall, Tehran.
The exhibition hosted a multi-stakeholder forum including Ministry of Health and Medical Education, Ministry of Education  and State Welfare Organization of Iran along with La Chiane l’Espoire, the Danish Refugee Council (DRC), the Operation Mercy Organization, the Nippon International Cooperation for Community Development (NICCO), the Organization for Defending Victims of Violence (ODVV), the Iraqi Refugee Aid Council (IRAC), the World Food Programme, UNICEF and the Association for Protection of Refugee Women & Children.  Many of the booths were operated by refugees with MAHAK’s represented by two survivors one of whom is now a successful university student in Iran.
MAHAK consistently strives to have a proactive participation in the regional and international fora, conferences, workshops, and congresses promoting the idea of “love without border”.  MAHAK’s 20 year-plus experience of supporting more than 700 refugee children with cancer and their families in a comprehensive fashion, demonstrates this principle very well.
We express our preparedness and determination to play an active role toward the fruition of our common dream of eradicating cancer and hope that one day all cancer-stricken children including refugees across the globe receive the global support and assistance required for a life of health, dignity and fulfillment.
