MAHAK Commemorates the International Week of the Deaf

On International Week of the Deaf which is marked on October 24 – 30, MAHAK visited Iran Society of Deaf People Family to pay tribute to active members of this society for all their efforts.
During this visit the managers of both organizations exchanged knowledge and expertise. Iran Society of Deaf People Family was established by a number of deaf family members and the support of Samineh Baghcheban, Jabar Baghcheban’s daughter in May 1972. Since the beginning, this organization put all their energy to improve the life skills of the deaf and raising public awareness about their social rights.
Some of the main objectives of this organization are:
• Raising the level of culture and Knowledge of deaf by using advanced technology
• Fighting against illiteracy of the deaf and establishing boarding schools for adults
• Financial self-sufficiency for the deaf
• Improving the infrastructures for attaining a proper lifestyle such as professional training , employment and initiating health insurance plans for deaf
As some of cancer side effects are hearing loss or decreasing the hearing ability, Mahak is willing to benefit from experiences of related organizations and to share these joint cooperation in achieving high potential and synergies.
MAHAK main goal is to expand the culture of altruism and using society’s capacities to solve social problems and is always thankful of non-governmental institutes and charity organizations’ efforts towards supporting human beings.
