Along with chemotherapy and surgery, radiotherapy is one of the conventional methods in treating cancer. In this method, ions are used to destroy or minimize cancerous tissues. Even though the rays harm cancerous cells as well as healthy ones, the majority of healthy cells recover and essentially replace the destroyed cells. The goal of radiotherapy is to destroy the majority of cancerous cells with the least possible damage to healthy tissues.

In addition to releasing more suitable rays on the tumour, in this method the surrounding healthier tissues are better protected and the chances of the patient’s recovery increase with less illnesses later on. This machine is also equipped with an Electronic Portal Imaging Device (EPID) which before every session controls and guarantees the accuracy of the area of treatment.”
