Each year and during December, we commemorate MAHAK Survivors Day, celebrating children who have successfully overcome cancer. This year event brought together supporters of MAHAK to showcase the remarkable accomplishments of this establishment.

Saideh Qods, MAHAK founder, initiated the ceremony and stated: even now, people often perceive cancer as a cosmic issue. However, MAHAK proudly has made considerable progress during time and through utilizing diverse treatment methods, especially stem cell transplants. Today, MAHAK stands as a solid and trustworthy bridge, allowing the generous people of Iran to support children with cancer.

Following that, Kiana, MAHAK first survivor  embark of this journey, was presented a booklet featuring heartfelt notes from fellow MAHAK survivors. Trying to express her emotions, she quoted a poem of the Persian well-known poet, Saadi:

Human beings are members of a whole

In creation of one essence and soul

Dr. Arasb Ahmadian, MAHAK CEO, also remarked: MAHAK accomplishments are a testament to the dedication of supporters, volunteers, health professionals, and all personnel. He expressed gratitude to everyone who has played a role in MAHAK success over the years, highlighting those who united for a common purpose and faced challenges alongside MAHAK, choosing to embrace the responsibilities instead of leaving.

Next, a video was displayed of Dr. Mansoureh Haghighi, the supervisor of MAHAK Laboratory Department, explaining the importance of stem cell transplants in cancer treatment. According to her, there are conditions in which conventional treatment methods may fall short, necessitating alternative approaches. In light of fulfilling its corporate social responsibility, Bahman Motor Company funded the registration of 5,000 samples at MAHAK in 2017. Just one day later, 700 samples were registered, and the total has now exceeded 12,000 at the MAHAK HLA Typing Bank.

At the end, Dr. Ali Naderi, the head of MAHAK Stem Cell Transplantation, reflected on his 13 years of experience at MAHAK and said: having worked at MAHAK has brought me sweet spiritual and emotional rewards, sweet as receiving dates from a survivor kid who is now a parent.

Hope Thrives at MAHAK!
