The CEO of MAHAK participated in the World Cancer Congress (WCC) 2016 which was held on 31 October _ 3 November 2016 in Paris, France with the theme of ‘Mobilizing Action – Inspiring Change’ with the presence of more than 3000 delegates from different countries.
The World Cancer Congress, which has won ‘Best Conference Development’ award at the 2016 International and European Associations Awards, is now acknowledged by the global cancer community as the leading international event in cancer implementation science. This biennial congress which is run by the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) and hosted by a UICC Member Organization, provides a great atmosphere for networking and exchanging experiences, knowledge and best practices on cancer related issues.
During this congress, a large choice of interactive sessions, lively debates, an ice-breaking breakfast, workshops, themed receptions and capacity building opportunities was offered within the five cancer control tracks as below:
Track 1 – Stemming the tide: innovations in prevention and screening
Track 2 – Closing the gap: quality cancer treatment and diagnosis for all
Track 3 – Improving patient and family experiences
Track 4 – Strengthening cancer control: optimizing outcomes of health systems
Track 5 – Empowering civil societies: building capacity for change
Organizing a special CEO program was one of the highlighted points of these four days in order to make a collaborative network for the CEOs from different organizations.
Besides the different above-mentioned programs organized by UICC, the president elect and board of directors’ members’ election was held by which 12 delegates were elected as the board of directors members for the next two years.
MAHAK, as a full member of Union for International Cancer Control (UICC), congratulates the new president – elect and the members of board of directors and considers it as a unique prospect for global cancer and wider health community to network and develop meaningful collaborations and drive change together.
As long as, MAHAK believes that there is much to be learned through participating in professional and scientific gatherings with other alike organizations at national and international level, identifies this kind of congress as an opportunity to increase its capacities by using variety of experiences and professions to provide the children with cancer and their families with the best level of Services.
