The representative of MAHAK, Dr. Farid Gharehdaghi, pain specialist and head of Pain Management Department at MAHAK Hospital, attended the 5th International Congress on Neuropathic Pain (NeuPSIG) on May 14-17, 2015 in Nice, France. His attendance was in line with the major missions of MAHAHK’s Pain Department, and more specifically sought the following goals:
1 – Promoting the scientific levels of MAHAK’s Pain Department to improve the ‘Pain Treatment Methods in Children’
2 – Introducing MAHAK’s Pain Department as one of the active research and therapy departments of MAHAK
3 – Interacting with specialists, companies, and communities who can augment the scientific levels of MAHAK’s Pain Department
During the congress, along with presenting a poster under the title of ‘THE EVALUATION OF BOLUS EPIDURAL INJECTION OF ADENOSINE IN CHRONIC NEUROPATHIC PAIN IN PRIMITIVE NEUROECTODERMAL TUMOR’, Dr. Gharehdaghi recognized that along with interventional and basic pain management methods, developed countries have mainly focused on Molecular and Genetic studies on exact pain anatomical pathway and personalized medicine. In addition, Dr. Gharehdaghi believes that attending this congress has really helped him to realize the needs of MAHAK’s Pain department better, which indeed can be instrumental for planning the long-term goals of the clinic and equipping the ward with high quality facilities in the future.
Indeed, we at MAHAK are so grateful to all the people, authorities, and organizations who held this congress and are pleased to benefit from this unique chance to discuss, learn, and support each other and to move forward in our common mission against childhood cancer.
