The CEO of MAHAK, Arasb Ahmadian, participated as a guest speaker at the second edition of EEMEA-EEPO; Patient Organizations Connect meeting held in Casablanca, Morocco on December 13-14, 2016 and delivered a speech on “Social Capacity in NGOs”.
The EEMEA-EEPO was organized to bring together patient organizations (POs) from countries in the Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa (EEMEA) to share ideas, experiences and feedback on key issues for patient organizations.
This year meeting, including two specialized panels and ten speeches, hosted 74 representatives from 37 different organizations focusing on:
– Providing opportunities to discuss the challenges POs face in their everyday work
– Exploring possible solutions to current and future challenges the POs face in the region
– Creating space for dialogue for patient advocates from different countries and therapeutic areas.
Since sharing knowledge and specialized experiences in accordance with global standards at national and international levels is always one of our main concerns, we believe that participation in such meetings and conferences provides the chance of bringing up many more capabilities through the effective connection between different organizations and individuals which will ultimately lead to providing cancer-stricken children and their families with more qualified and up to dated support and treatment services.
MAHAK always appreciates the individuals and organizations that put their efforts on organizing such fruitful and positive meetings with the purpose of empowering alike organizations to move forward in their common mission against cancer.
