“Mitra” is now 32 years old. She was diagnosed with cancer when she was three years old. A rare kidney tumor that affects one in every 10,000 people. After visiting doctors and specialists several times, radiography and performing numerous tests, she lost one of her kidneys due to the malignancy of the tumor. Now, 27 years have passed since those difficult days. Mitra entered the university years after her recovery, and because MAHAK accompanies its children in different stages of their lives, a grant was also considered for her education. These days, she is a cinema and theater make-up artist and has participated in film projects such as “Khane Pedari” directed by Kianoush Ayari. Interesting to know that along with clothing and make-up design, she also completed an accounting course.

Mitra has persistently followed the path of success. According to her, no one thought that Mitra could study, have a job and play an important role in the family. She was able to reach the place she envisioned for herself with the help of her doctor and MAHAK big family. Mitra’s success today has an important message for other children of MAHAK, their families and everyone in this big family: What a sweet ending the fight against cancer can have. This means that our efforts have come to fulfillment both as patients and their families and as benefactors. Because children with cancer, like any person, are liable to struggle and achieve success in the future.

How do you help yourself and your loved ones to get through difficult times? Write a comment, maybe your solution would give hope to other people.

Footnote: This is a photo of Mitra and her father. From the days when they were fighting cancer with all their strength.
