On Wednesday, Nov. 27, cancer-stricken children and their mothers, who have been accommodated in MAHAK’s SattarKhan Residential Center, went to Goftogou Park for a one-day excursion filled with feasting and playing.
Mohammad, a 5-year old boy from Chalous noted after seeing the man-made lake in the park: “our sea is much nicer than the one you have here”.
Intimate gathering of MAHAK children and their mothers as well as social workers from our Support Services department had lunch beside the lake in a friendly and warm atmosphere. Reyhaneh, an 11-year old girl, offered pickles made by her grandmother to all of the attendees.
Since the early days of MAHAK, funding or providing accommodation for families coming from afar for the treatment of their child has been a priority for this charity-care organization. Thus, MAHAK constructed two residential centers, serving free-of-charge welfare services, which distinguishes MAHAK from other NGOs and serves as a critically important function without which many families would be excluded from services available only at MAHAK specialty hospital.
