Ever since the era of Hippocrates, the doctors dreamed of being able to see inside of the live human being to diagnose the cause for pains and diseases. Centuries passed till Wilhelm Conrad Röntgen got this dream granted and on 8 November 1895, he produced and detected electromagnetic radiation in a wavelength range known as X-rays. World Radiography Day marks the discovery of X-rays on the same occasion. 96 years ago, the first X-ray machine was made available to the public at Tehran Government Hospital (now Sina Hospital). Since then, we have all had the experience of using this kind of machine for its diagnostic services. Despite the fact that such equipment is very expensive, at MAHAK, children receive this type of service during their treatment which is a result of the care and support of the ever-expanding family of MAHAK.
On the occasion of the World Radiography Day we pay tribute to all our colleagues at MAHAK’s Radiography Ward and to all the individuals and centers that provide services of this kind.
