Our society celebrated World Radiography Week on November 8, 2012 in MAHAK Specialized Hospital & Research Center in the presence of MAHAK Radiography Unit staff, as well as the members of the board of trustees, board of directors, the founder and the managing director of MAHAK as well as an invited group of guests, physicians and specialists.
World Radiography Day is celebrated on 8th of November each year, marking the anniversary of the discovery of x-radiation in 1895. 117 years ago, Willhelm Conrad Rontgen discovered the existence of X-rays for the first time. More than a century later, the discipline of radiology is central to the successful practice of medicine throughout the world.
Radiologists around the globe use this day to promote radiography as a career, to celebrate its vital contribution to modern healthcare and as a chance to improve therapeutic approaches.
The theme of this year’s celebration is ‘Oncologic Imaging’, focusing on all aspects of imaging in the diagnosis and treatment of cancer.
These events serve as opportunities for us at MAHAK – the Society to Support Children Suffering from Cancer, to express our appreciation and thanks to the society of radiologists for their endeavors in support of advancements in the field of radiography.
