Specialists’ Gathering at MAHAK

On 17th of April 2015, a group of specialists and oncologists gathered at MAHAK in order to get familiar with the activities of both MAHAK charity institution and hospital, exchange their knowledge and experiences, and as a result improve medical care to children with cancer in this medical center.
MAHAK’s Achievements, the Result of its Supporters’ Trust
Dr. Javad Karbassizadeh, chairman of the board of directors, welcomed the attendants and presented a report from MAHAK’s activities during 2014-2015, and said, “In the past twenty-four years, MAHAK has gained the silver plaque of quality from the International Organization of Standard, the golden prize of International Project Management Association (IPMA) in 2014, and the silver prize of Green Project Management (GPM) in 2014. MAHAK has been able to help more than 23,000 children stricken by cancer, and none of these could have been achieved without the assist and trust MAHAK’s supporters. Relying on your knowledge and experience, we hope we can provide MAHAK children with the highest level of medical care in our hospital.”
The Added Value for Serving MAHAK Children
Arasb Ahmadian, CEO of MAHAK, thanked everyone for their presence and said, “MAHAK’s operations concentrate on children with cancer at a national and international level in the three domains of charity, treatment and research. In order to provide the best and most effective services to its children, this organization has increased the cooperation between the support service and medical teams, so that it can give the best care and the latest services to the children with cancer, with the help of various specialties. Also, considering the system performance in management of the organization, MAHAK tries to add value to benefactor’s support and donations by planning and assessing the processes regularly.”
Ahmadian also mentioned that MAHAK focuses on mental health, financial ability, and making social inclusion for children and their families along with delivering the comprehensive medical services.
Strengthening Friendship and Altruism for MAHAK Children
Dr. Azim Mehrvar, the head of MAHAK hospital, expressed his contentment by the presence of his old classmates in this ceremony, and said, “We hope this meeting is the beginning to strengthen the bonding we’ve had so far. I hope we can establish a net of scientific knowledge exchange bashed on our friendship and spiritual cooperation in order to serve these children in the best and effective way. I wish such friendship and cooperation, from different fields and responsibilities from all over the country would be an example for others in the future, as the medical society always needs this unity and companionship amongst its organizations and specialties.”
Introducing MAHAK’s BMT, Pain Management, and Palliative Care Wards
Dr. Amir Abbas Hedayati, the head of the MAHAK’s BMT ward, pointed out the success of this ward, and reminded everyone the first stem cell transplantation for Retinoblastoma in Iran and Middle East, and the first stem cell transplantation for curing Hepatoblastoma in Iran has taken place in this ward. He also presented a report about the function of this ward in the past three years, and said, “MAHAK transplantation ward has the ability to perform all stem cell transplantations. Approaching the third anniversary of opening the transplantation ward, the number of patients has reached 101”.
MAHAK’s Cancer Survivor’s Artistic Performance
In this ceremony, Nima Hafezi, a child cancer survivor who has many achievements in music and education, performed some beautiful piano pieces.
MAHAK has always been looking for knowledge, skill, specialty, and experience all over the world, and tries to provide the children with cancer with the best medical and supportive care. This organization appreciates the thoughtful supporters who have been there for this humanitarian purpose all these years. We hope we can ask all the supporters, specialists, artists and all our allies all over the world to be on our side so that one day we can celebrate the survival of all cancer-stricken children.
