Paying Tribute to Pain Fellowship Professors
The 1st International Congress of Cancer Pain Management was held at MAHAK on the occasion of World Cancer Day from February 3 – 6, 2016.
In this three-day Congress which was conducted with the cooperation of Iranian Pediatric Hematology and Oncology Society along with scientific and varsity associations, MAHAK appreciated all the efforts made for developing, designing and launching pain fellowship courses by specialists relevant to this field: Dr. Mahvash Agah, Dr. Farnad Imani and Dr. Asadollah Saadat Niaki who are pain fellowship pioneers in Iran.
Before presenting the appreciation plaques, Prof. Mardawig Alebouyeh, a prominent oncologist, chair of MAHAK’s Medical Council and member of its board of trustees, expressed his happiness of widespread use of Pain management in different hospitals and stated: “The most important duty of those graduated in different fields of education is to follow the path which pioneers in this field have gone through and apply their experiences”.
During this event, MAHAK gave the certificate of appreciation to the medicine professors of pain fellowship course and praised them for launching this program therefore reducing pain and improving the quality of life in patients, particularly cancer-stricken children.
It is also necessary to mention that the 1st International Congress of Cancer Pain Management and 4th Annual National Conference on Pediatric Pain Medicine and Regional Anesthesia and Interventional Pain Management Workshop was presented by MAHAK with the target of exchanging the most updated knowledge and pain controlling skills with reliable scientific specialists and research centers all over the world.
In this congress the specialists and professional groups of pain medicine has explained their latest scientific achievements focusing on palliative care and pain medicine in pediatric oncology.
MAHAK in line with its mission of providing the best support and treatment services for cancer-stricken children has moved forward to improve the quality of services by inaugurating the first pediatric pain and palliative care unit in Iran and the Middle East. We hope that with the help of all the supporters, specialists and participation of educated people, the day comes when children have a world without suffering and pain.
