MAHAK has been awarded with The National Prize for “Fight against Cancer” on Tuesday, 4th of February at the World Cancer Day Conference.
During this conference, held as part of ‘The First Congress on Cancer Control Program’ at the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) conference hall, four cancer support communities were honored. The main prizes of this conference were awarded to Saeideh Ghods and Arasb Ahmadian, respectively the founder and managing director of MAHAK. The appreciation prize of Iranian National Commission for UNESCO was also awarded to MAHAK due to its contribution in fighting against cancer from a humanitarian and charity organization platform.
One of the main concerns of MAHAK has always been delivering comprehensive support to children suffering from cancer and their families through education programs and information sensitization campaigns in order to increase the cancer diagnosis rate in children within the early stages of the disease. By including this concern as one of the main elements of MAHAK mission statement, this organization is committed to ‘walking the talk’ beyond running the largest specialized pediatric cancer hospital in the region while extending its outreach to more than thirty public hospitals across Iran through its Support Services department.
MAHAK is grateful to all the organizations, specialists and supporters who help MAHAK in improving the quality and quantity of its services for children with cancer throughout Iran. Being recognized by such prestigious entity assures MAHAK’s ever-expanding family that the path is correct and the efforts towards reducing the malignancy effects of cancer for children and their families are bearing fruit.
