Third Anniversary of MAHAK’s BMT Ward

On 4th of May 2015, a ceremony marking the third anniversary of the opening of MAHAK’s Bone Marrow Transplantation Ward was held with the presence of the children treated in this ward, their families, physicians, MAHAK hospital staff, social workers and members of MAHAK’s board of trustees and directors.
Healthy Lives, the Result of MAHAK Supporters’ Love and Efforts
At the beginning of the ceremony, Saideh Ghods, the founder of MAHAK, expressing her enthusiasm of seeing so many happy faces, said: “This is the result of the MAHAK’s supporters’ efforts and assistance leading to the establishment of the BMT Ward. I hope that with such cooperation, MAHAK promises you and your dear families happiness and health”.
Dr. Azim Mehrvar, head of MAHAK hospital, honoring the memory of the Prof. Parvaneh Vossough and explaining her efforts towards opening this ward, said: “I hope that by being actively involved in the fields of education, research and development and constantly updating knowledge and experiences at MAHAK’s hospital, every year we see more and more number of cancer survivors”.
Later a volunteer music band brought joy and unforgettable moments to the ceremony. Children with the help of social workers came up to the scene to cut the cake and take memorable photos.
Championship Medals for MAHAK’s Heroes
MAHAK children were awarded championship medals for their heroic struggle with cancer. One of the children transplanted in this sector read a text of her memories at MAHAK hospital and later a video of the construction, equipment and opening of the BMT Ward was played for the audience.
At the end of the ceremony Behnaz Asangari, the director of the supportive services department thanked the families of MAHAK children and said: “we are proud to have you with us and everyday you teach us patience and persistence.”
With the latest knowledge and research regarding the treatment and support of cancer, MAHAK hopes to provide a higher quality of services to children with cancer and their families,
