Volunteers

Volunteers are one of the main pillars of MAHAK as well as our greatest asset who dedicates their time, knowledge, specialty and experiences to realize MAHAK mission of comprehensively supporting cancer-stricken children and their families. Volunteerism is prevalent throughout MAHAK, from our founder to the members of the boards of trustees and directors.  Furthermore, many of the most prominent physicians in the field of cancer treatment and research work for and support MAHAK voluntarily.

As a member of ever-growing family of MAHAK, volunteers accompany cancer-stricken children through their challenging days of treatment. While this mutual cooperation brings inner good feeling and fulfilment of social responsibility toward society for the volunteers, MAHAK also values it since:

• MAHAK community, like any other organization that is supported by the people, is defined by its volunteer workers
• By taking care of the needs of the organization, volunteers save MAHAK the expense of employing staff members, thereby reducing overall expenditures immensely
• By undertaking fundraising activities such as charity bazaars, volunteers bring in staggering incomes to the organization
• Over time, volunteers become ambassadors for MAHAK spreading our message of charity throughout the work

During the past 30 years, MAHAK has grown steadily and as a result, the number of volunteers has grown too.  In the beginning, there were a few dedicated volunteers but now the numbers have risen to in excess of a thousand people and this number increases every year.

The first and oldest group of volunteers known as MAHAK social workers goes back three decades since the very first days of forming MAHAK charity and the second oldest group is the Youth group which currently, all of these groups are operating in a consistent department under supervision of volunteer council.
