On World Hepatitis Day, observed every year on July 28, MAHAK joins the global effort to raise awareness about viral hepatitis, a major cause of liver disease and cancer.

The 2025 theme, “Hepatitis: Let’s Break It Down,” calls for urgent action to remove the social, financial, and systemic barriers—including stigma—that hinder access to hepatitis prevention, testing, and treatment.

At MAHAK Pediatric Cancer Treatment and Research Center, special attention is given to monitoring liver health, as many cancer treatments can impact liver function. This approach supports safer and more effective care for children during their treatment journey.

Though hepatitis B and C are preventable, treatable—and in the case of hepatitis C, curable—many still go undiagnosed. We echo the global call to simplify, scale up, and integrate hepatitis services to help end this silent epidemic by 2030.

Together, we can break it down—because every young life holds incredible promise.
