World NGO Day is celebrated every year on February 27th to recognize the invaluable contributions of non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and the volunteers who dedicate their time and resources to encourage positive changes around the world. This day is acknowledged in more than 89 countries across six continents.

Formally recognized by the European Union, World NGO Day honors the remarkable efforts of over 10 million NGOs and nonprofit organizations worldwide. The day aims to inspire people to become more engaged with NGOs, develop universal compassion and greater cooperation worldwide.

MAHAK- The Society to Support Children Suffering from Cancer was ranked among the top ten non-governmental organizations worldwide, out of over 260 evaluated by Société Génerale de Surveillance (SGS)in 2018. MAHAK also achieved a Gold Award from the International Project Management Association (IPMA) in 2014 and 2018, a Silver Plaque from the International Green Project Management Association (IGPMA) in 2014, as well as the Quality Silver Trophy from the GIC International Institute in 2007 and 2011.

Furthermore, MAHAK received the ‘National Quality Award’ from Iran Supreme Council of Standard as the only selected charity organization among more than 40 nominated organizations on November 8, 2016 at the National Library of Iran, in Tehran.

MAHAK Charity Institute, as the leading NGO in the region, has assisted over 45,000 children to this date, with an average of six new cases reported daily. The organization remains committed to delivering the highest quality of care and services for children and their families.
