In the sideline of his visit to MAHAK, Dr. Janbaba’ie in addition to mentioning what he had seen in the hospital, added: “At MAHAK, a set of services are being delivered to the patients free of charge. This is what we wish to implement in all the public hospitals around Iran.”

He added that: “In the Health System Development Project, we have strived to reduce the challenges that the patients usually face in hospitals, by providing free of charge chemotherapy, radiotherapy and surgery services to the patients with chronic and acute diseases in public hospitals.”

“Chemotherapy, palliative care, supportive services, genetic testing, imaging and transplantation services are free at MAHAK. In other words, all of the diagnostic, therapeutic, rehabilitation and transplantation services are completely free of charge to patients” said the Treatment Deputy of the Ministry of Health and Medical Education.

We hope that MAHAK practices will be modeled and similar treatments for children with cancer will be provided for other high-risk diseases,” said Janbaba’ie, adding that childhood cancer is extremely stressful for families.

Fortunately, there are social workers and psychologists in MAHAK along with other specialists and experts.”
