MAHAK’s Presence at the UN’s Ceremony on World Refugee Day

The CEO of MAHAK participated in an event held on the occasion of World Refugee Day on June 18 in Tehran, at Masoudieh Historical Palace by UNHCR.

This event was organized according to the special presence of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, Mr. Filippo Grandi and under the UNHCR announced Theme of ‘We stand together with Refugees’. The Deputy Minister of Interior for Security and Disciplinary Affairs, Mr. Hossein Zolfaghari was another participant having speech along with Mr. Filippo Grandi. A number of the refugees in Iran, government officials, national and international non-governmental organizations indicated their support and sympathy with refugees in Iran and all over the world during their presence at this ceremony.

After an address by Mr. Filippo Grandi, the participants visited the photography exhibition regarding to refugees’ situation in Iran and also refugees’ empowerment exhibition stalls.

MAHAK, as one of the ongoing partners of UNHCR and as an organization giving services to children refugees from Afghanistan and Iraq always endeavors to have a profitable participation in domestic and international gatherings such as conferences and workshops in the field of humanitarian plans and activities to promote the idea of “Love without Border”. During the past 25 years of experience, MAHAK has striven to not to deviate from this path by supporting the refugee children with cancer and their families in a comprehensive way.
