MAHAK’s Representative Attends the IBFM Study Group

MAHAK representative, Dr. Azim Mehrvar, a Hematologist and Pediatric Oncology specialist and head of MAHAK Hospital, attended the 26th Annual Meeting of the International BFM Study Group (I-BFM SG) on May 8-10, 2015 held in Budapest (Hungary), dedicated to promote both research and clinical care for children and adolescents with leukemia and lymphoma.
In pursuit of its noble mission of ’We Care – We Share’, MAHAK consistently strives to have a proactive participation in the regional and international meetings, conferences, workshops, and congresses which are held in the field of cancer throughout the globe to share knowledge and achievements in the fields of research and treatment of all cancer types affecting children.
The main objectives of this event were:
• To foster the information exchange among the participating groups, including preliminary results.
• To promote research projects in childhood leukemia and related disorders, including non-Hodgkin’s lymphomas.
• To promote prospective randomized clinical trials, using consensus approaches and allowing the participation of other groups.
• To activate cooperative projects for biological research.
• To promote translation of findings from basic to clinical research and vice versa.
• To study rare problems
We at MAHAK, would like to take this opportunity to thank all those involved in organizing this conference and are pleased that we had this opening to participate in this event and benefit from this unique chance to discuss, learn, and support each other and to move forward in our common mission against childhood cancer.
