The 3rd annual national conference on Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) was held on Oct. 30, 2014 at MAHAK, from basic to advanced level based on the recent CPR protocol from American Heart Association. Main attendees were general practitioners and specialists teams at MAHAK.
The open speech from Prof. Mardawig Alebouyeh, member of the MAHAK’s board of trustees and conference scientific secretary, stated: ”MAHAK was built with the notion of supporting children suffering from cancer. With the general public contribution, it gradually changed from a small charity to a large organization. MAHAK has built the only highly specialized hospital for pediatric cancer in Middle East. According to international standards, it provides therapeutic facilities of latest methods to children with cancer, conducts researches and exchanges scientific information.” He continued by introducing two new divisions at MAHAK Hospital; the pain management and stem cell transplant. He also, invited all audience to contribute to MAHAK’s voluntary activities.
Following Prof. Alebouyeh’s presentation, Dr. Farid Gharehdaghi, pain specialist and head of Pain Management department at MAHAK Hospital and also the Conference Executive Secretary- held the very first workshop on, “CPR of Myocardial Infarction Patients” in line with the American Heart Association (AHA) latest protocol (2014).
Moreover, recent articles published during the months of September and October 2014 were analyzed. Articles main focus was on, training, using different medicines and the importance of Cardiac massage. The effect of fast, accurate, uninterrupted and simultaneous actions during CPR were emphasized.
Following the workshop sessions, CEO of Iranian Neuro-Genetics Centre, Dr. Kariminejad, delivered a lecture on the origins of genetics in Iran.
The conference was held with the support of MAHAK, Indicating the organization’s constant support for improving and developing education and research, as well as, psychological, sociological therapy and protection for children in need. We hope that, with public’s cooperation and support, MAHAK will be the pioneer in every field and a follower of our noble mentor’s humanitarian beliefs such as, Professor Parvaneh Vossough.
