MAHAK’s Representatives attend the SIOP International Congress

International Confederation of Childhood Cancer Parents Organization (ICCCPO) has joined forces with International Society of Pediatric Oncology (SIOP) in conducting both regional and annual congresses for medical and humanitarian functionaries in the field of children cancer.  MAHAK representatives, Saideh Ghods who is founder and member of both Boards of Trustees and Directors of MAHAK and member of Asia Regional Committee of ICCCPO, and Dr. Azim Mehrvar, a Hematologist and Pediatric Oncology specialist and head of MAHAK Hospital, attended the 46th Congress of the International Society of Paediatric Oncology (SIOP) held from 22 – 25 of October 2014 in Toronto, Canada.

The congress hosted a multi-stakeholder forum including parents, survivors, clinicians, healthcare professionals, scientists and industry leaders with a high quality and diverse program comprising of plenary sessions, guest lectures, committee/group sessions, meet the expert sessions, free and proffered paper sessions. During one of these sessions, S. Ghods had a presentation on the importance of social responsibility in MAHAK hospital.

In pursuit of its noble mission of ’We Care – We Share’, MAHAK consistently strives to have a proactive participation in the regional and international meetings and conferences which are held in the field of cancer throughout the globe to share knowledge and achievements in the fields of research and treatment of all cancer types affecting children.
